St. Andrews University, Accommodation Facility
This is one of our first (hopefully will lead to more) jobs that we have done being contracted by major UK builder, Sir Robert McAlpine. The new accommodation facilty which comprises 4no. blocks of flatted accommodation with 12no. flats per block and 1no. studio per block. We were contacted by Edinburgh office of architects, Halliday Fraser and Munro, Max Davidson, the architect in charge of the project had thankfully found out that we had done work previously for St. Andrews University and allowed us the opportunity to quote for this project.
Through a process of design and specification options a final agreement was reached for various signage to the flats externally and internally. We used a mix of brushed stainless steel, flat and built up along with dibond brushed aluiminium plate signs for flat numbers and floor levels. The entrance plates to the blocks were all laser cut individually to suit each block.
The finished work looks good but also is very practical and robust to meet the needs of the student fraternity which can get a bit boisterous!
